Weighing Automation

Turn your serious space into a fully autonomous zone

The SCALIS system (from HEMAK) is a modular software and hardware platform that integrates industrial scales, automation, logistics management, and facility security into a single central hub. No more manual data entry, paper slips, or errors.

The Complete SCALIS Ecosystem

Digitization of Weighing
  • SCALIS is a solution for companies that need to automate weighing, reduce manual data entry, and maintain accurate digital records of material movement. It connects industrial scales, self-service terminals, drivers, vehicles, materials, cameras, barriers, traffic lights, and enterprise systems into a single, managed process.
  • Weighing in modern operations is no longer just a matter of determining weight. It is a data point that determines material intake and output, invoicing, inventory records, vehicle inspections, carrier movements, and the transparency of the entire operation. SCALIS transforms weighing from a manual task into an automated data flow.
  • The system is suitable for quarries, gravel pits, concrete plants, recycling centers, collection yards, agricultural operations, warehouses, logistics facilities, manufacturing plants, and all facilities where it is important to know exactly what material has arrived, departed, or been moved within the premises.
Why Automate Weighing?
  • In many companies, weighing is still done manually. Operators manually enter the license plate number, company name, driver’s name, material, order, or document number. Drivers wait for their orders to be processed, weigh tickets are printed without further processing, and the data is often entered into the warehouse, accounting, or ERP system at a later time.
  • This process increases the risk of errors and slows down operations. All it takes is an incorrectly entered license plate number, a typo in the documentation, a mix-up with the company, or a lost weigh ticket, and a problem arises with billing, a complaint, or a follow-up audit.
  • SCALIS eliminates these weaknesses. Driver or vehicle identification takes place automatically or semi-automatically; the weight is assigned to a specific order, material, or company; the system calculates the net weight; and the data remains traceable in the digital records.
What SCALIS Connects
  • SCALIS can be deployed as simple software for weighing records or as a comprehensive solution for managing an entire weighing station.

It primarily connects:

  • road scales and bridge scales
  • industrial scales
  • on-board weighing systems
  • SCALIS AUTOMAT self-service terminals
  • RFID and UHF RFID Identification
  • QR, EAN, and PIN codes
  • CCTV systems and license plate recognition
  • barriers, traffic lights, and traffic signals
  • tickets printers
  • intercoms for communication between the driver and the crew
  • SCALTA industrial tablets
  • warehouse, accounting, manufacturing, and ERP systems

How Automated Weighing Works

  1. Entrance
When entering the premises, the vehicle is identified by a unique carrier of information about the order, job or transport. Identification can be done using an RFID card, QR code, EAN code, PIN code, vehicle registration number or number plate.
SCALIS then assigns the vehicle to a specific company, material, order or type of operation and prepares the weighing process without the need for manual data entry.

  2. Integration
SCALIS enables the integration of data from various weighing technologies into a single system. Data from a belt scale, road scale, loading scale or other measuring device can serve as information on the amount of available material, operation performance or order status.
This gives the operation real-time insight into material flow, workplace performance, inventory availability, and downstream processes.

  3. Scales
The system can work with loading scales, weighbridges, road scales or process scales in operation. SCALIS allows you to monitor and manage the loading process, check orders and compare the actual amount of material with the required amount.
In combination with an industrial tablet or terminal, the operator can monitor weighing, performance and process status directly in the field, or perform remote control of scale data.

  4. Output
Upon exiting the premises, the vehicle is re-weighed and the system confirms the resulting weight and the loaded or unloaded product. SCALIS automatically pairs the entry and exit weighings, calculates the net weight and creates a digital weighing record.
Each weighing is stored with unique data that can be further processed, printed as a weighing ticket or sent to ERP, warehouse, accounting or invoicing.

  5. Loader scales
SCALIS can also work with scales of loaders, excavators or other handling equipment. It allows you to monitor and control loading directly while the machine is working, for example using a tablet or on-board weighing system.
The operation can thus monitor the amount of loaded material, order fulfillment, the performance of individual workers or machines, and plan mining, loading, or shipping work more accurately and efficiently.

Connecting Technologies

RFID Identification

An RFID card enables quick identification of a driver, vehicle, carrier, or customer. It is particularly suitable for regular drivers and vehicles that return repeatedly to the facility.

UHF RFID Vehicle Identification
UHF RFID enables vehicle identification from a greater distance. A vehicle can be automatically recognized upon arrival at a weigh station, a barrier, or the entrance to a facility.
QR and EAN codes

A QR or EAN code can be included in an order, a delivery note, a mobile app, or a driver’s document. It is suitable for third-party carriers and one-time orders that do not require the issuance of physical cards.

PIN code

A PIN is a simple way to identify an order, a driver, or a process. It is suitable for situations where quick deployment or simple operation without special hardware is required.

License Plate Recognition

The camera automatically reads the vehicle identification number, and SCALIS matches it to the vehicle database or a specific weigh-in. This helps speed up the process and reduce errors caused by manual data entry.

CCTV Monitoring

For each weighing, it is possible to save images of the vehicle, license plate, cargo, or the weighing area. This way, during a retrospective review, the facility can see not only the numbers but also visual evidence.

Barriers and Traffic Lights

SCALIS can control a vehicle’s passage through a barrier or traffic light. The vehicle continues on only after the weight data has been correctly recorded or the process has met the set criteria.

ERP Integrations

Weighing data can be automatically sent to the ERP, warehouse, accounting, invoicing, or production systems. This reduces the need to manually re-enter data and improves the accuracy of records.

  • Faster processing of vehicles at the weigh station
  • less waiting on the premises
